MOSS & CO NEW TOPIARY ARRIVALS

The new topiary shipment has arrived. We have a better selection than ever! There are several varieties to choose from including
three foot tall lavenders that are getting ready to bloom, myrtles,scented geraniums,rosemary,ivy,eugenia and more. Also there are new myrtle shapes this year including a square and a double sheared round top. They are selling quite fast so try to get here early for the best selection. 

BRIMFIELD ANTIQUES SHOW

The first of theBrimfield Antiques Shows was held May 8th through May 13th. There are three a year but the May show is widely considered the best. If you are a dealer or just an avid antiques fan you should try to go to this show at least once in your lifetime. As we were already in Massachusetts and not far away we made the trip and were not disappointed. Found some great pieces for the shop including an 18th Century Gustavian corner cabinet, Swedish tables and amazing industrial mirrors.

Following are some photos of  show highlights. Most of these are from our favorite booth shared by two extremely creative dealers: NORTHSTAR ANTIQUES from Dallas Texas and RECYCLING THE PAST from Barnegat New Jersey. The last two photos are a sampling of some of the more colorful shoppers.

DEYROLLE PARIS

 Deyrolle at 46 rue du Bac in Saint Germain is considered by many a Parisian treasure.

 Though best known for its taxidermy collection today  it was founded in 1831 and also specialized in natural history publications, fossils, minerals, botanical specimens, shells and  microscopes. It was the age of the  amateur naturalist and a place where one could purchase (and still can) all manner of curiosities.

Along with photographs I've included some examples of early specimen labels which I find equally interesting.
